Every year, the Garlic Fest crew scours the earth looking for unique and unusual gifts, cooking gadgets, jewelry, art and more. Although we don't discriminate, garlic related items get extra points! Many old friends come back each year too! Like our Sponsors AT&T, San Francisco Puffs & Stuff, Viking, Garlic Festival Foods, Don the Cigar Guy and our Official Garlic Fest Merchandise booth.

2009 Poster Artist's Bio: Dana Donaty

Dana Donaty

Dana is a fan of the Delray Beach Garlic Fest and was happy to be asked to design this years poster.

The ingredients that went into the poster were inspired by her love of garlic, fun times and our 'Village by the Sea'. When Dana came across an image of a swing dance couple she imagined it looked like more fun than anyone should be allowed to have. She based her characters "Gabby" & "Gary Garlic" as the dancers in the image. And of course they are dancing by the seashore under the moonlight sipping their favorite Bordeaux. The artwork was hand painted on canvas with acrylic paint.

Dana hopes everyone will enjoy the 11th annual Delray Beach Garlic Fest and that you will stop by her booth located next to the Garlic Mercantile Booth to get an autographed copy of this years poster. Dana will also be selling her unique merchandise created specifically for the Garlic Fest and giclees of some of her other works. Garlic lovers will not want to miss this booth.

Dana Donaty moved to Delray Beach in 2005, after having lived in London for twelve years. Her company, Dana Donaty Designs creates murals, custom art and faux finishes for residential, commercial and public art commissions.

A local project, the 'Observations' mural won Delray’s 2009 Site Plan Review and Appearance award in the category of artistic building design. 'Observations' is located on The Delray Camera Shop located at 186 NE 2nd Avenue.

She recently completed the 'Big Red' mural for the new Boynton Beach Fire Station #5 Emergency Operation Center interior main lobby located at 2080 High Ridge Road at the southwest corner of Gateway Boulevard and I-95. To see more of Dana’s work please visit www.danadonaty.com.
